ધોરણ 6 થી 8 ના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે સ્વ અધ્યયન પોથી 

ગુજરાત શૈક્ષણિક સંશોધન અને તાલીમ પરિષદ – ગાંધીનગર દ્વારા તૈયાર કરેલ.

               સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓની વૈચારિક્તા અને કૌશલ્ય પર ભાર મૂકવામાં આવે છે. એટલું જ નહીં પણ સમગ્ર શિક્ષણ પ્રક્રિયામાં આ તરાહ એક અભિન્ન અંગ બની ગયેલ છે. પ્રવર્તમાન શિક્ષણની પ્રક્રિયામાં સ્કૃતિનું સ્થાન સમજ, ઉપયોજન તેમજ નવસર્જનને મળી રહ્યું છે. એટલે આ સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીમાં સ્મૃતિ આધારિત પ્રશ્નોનું પ્રમાણ અલ્પ રાખી વિચારપ્રેરક અને સમજ આધારિત પ્રશ્નો વિશેષરૂપે સમાવવામાં આવ્યા છે. આ પ્રકારના પ્રશ્નોના જવાબ શિક્ષકો કે વાલીઓ દ્વારા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને આપી દેવામાં આવે એ કરતાં તેઓ તર્ક કરતા થાય અને ઉત્તર શોધતા થાય એ માટે પ્રેરિત કરવાના છે. ઉત્તર શોધવાની પ્રક્રિયા જ વિદ્યાર્થીઓને અધ્યયનશીલ બનાવશે. કેટલેક સ્થળે દઢિકરણની ગરજ સારે તે મુજબ પ્રશ્નોની રચના કરવામાં આવી છે. અહીં વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે શિક્ષક/વાલીની પ્રેરણા અગત્યની પૂરવાર થાય તેમ છે.

               સ્વ-અધ્યયનપોથીમાં આપવામાં આવેલ સાહિત્યની વિશિષ્ટતા એ છે કે તેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ભિન્ન-ભિન્ન પ્રતિચારોને પણ સ્વીકારવામાં આવે છે. શિક્ષકો અને વાલીઓએ વિદ્યાર્થીઓની પાઠ્યપુસ્તકમાં આવેલી વિગતો ઉપરાંત પાઠ્યપુસ્તકમાં Between the lines અને તેથી આગળ વધી તેમના Beyond the textbook વિચારતા, વાંચતા અને માહિતી પ્રાપ્ત કરતા કરવાના છે. આ માટે વિવિધ માધ્યમોથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પ્રેરણા અને અધ્યયન સામગ્રી પૂરી પાડવાની છે.

               રાષ્ટ્રીય શિક્ષણ નીતિ 2020માં અધ્યયન નિષ્પત્તિઓ પર ભાર મૂકવામાં આવ્યો છે. આ અધ્યયન નિષ્પત્તિઓને લક્ષમાં લઈને વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં જે અપેક્ષિત પરિવર્તનની પ્રક્રિયાને યોગ્ય દિશા મળી રહેશે. આ સ્વ-અધ્યયનપોથી (NAS) જેવાં રાષ્ટ્રીય કક્ષાના સર્વેક્ષણોમાં આપણા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પોતાનું કૌવત વ્યક્ત કરવામાં મદદરૂપ થઈ શકશે તેવી અપેક્ષા છે.

               Emphasis is placed on the ideology and skills of students all over the world. Not only that but it has become an integral part of the entire education process. Understanding, application as well as innovation is finding the place of culture in the existing education process. Therefore, in this self-study book, the proportion of memory based questions has been kept low and thought based and understanding based questions have been specially included. The answer to such questions is to motivate students to reason and seek answers rather than to be given answers by teachers or parents. The process of finding the answer will make the students learn. In some places questions have been formulated according to the need for consolidation. The motivation of the teacher / guardian seems to be important for the students here.

               The uniqueness of the literature given in the self-study book is that it also accepts the different responses of the students. In addition to the details in the students’ textbook, teachers and parents have to think between the lines in the textbook and so on, thinking, reading and receiving information beyond their textbook. This is to provide inspiration and study materials to the students through various mediums.

               The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes study findings. Given these study findings, the process of expected change in students will find the right direction. National level surveys like this self-study book (NAS) are expected to help our students to express themselves.
